The original Cornwall Railway once ran between Churchtown Farm and Ince Castle, crossing the creek on a bridge linking Churchtown Farm and Wearde. The bridge has long since been demolished, although parts of the former railway alignment are still visible

Note the darker green patch. This marks the site of the Churchtown Farm end of the bridge, where the structure once stood.
The easiest way to reach the former railway is by walking through the vineyard. The other end is very dangerous underfoot, with steep cliffs nearby and little margin for error.
A careful jump over the Cornish stile leads to these steps.
A gentle right-hand turn brings you to the former railway line.
It has been suggested online that this could have been a Second World War depth charge store, although there may also have been a tunnel connecting this point to the opposite end of the former railway bridge. Drone photographs may eventually help confirm the theory.
